Loom

Since his physics professor didn't believe him, John took him on a ride in his modified Dodge van.

When they returned to the Harward parking lot, thirteen minutes later, the professor got out on shaky legs and checked the red dust on the tyres.

"Mars," he croaked. "But how?"

"I've developed the string theory," John replied proudly, "so you can arrange what I call threads as you wish and align them. Light speed is no barrier to my loom drive."

"Loom drive?"

"For arranging the threads."

"No," the professor said, "no physicist could accept a device working at warp speed."
